Pistol Fundamentals Course

The Pistol Fundamentals Course is designed for beginners and new gun owners looking to establish safe and effective handgun skills. This course provides a strong foundation in pistol handling, safety, and marksmanship through a combination of classroom instruction and live-fire training.

Students will learn how to safely operate a pistol, understand its parts and functions, and apply the core fundamentals of shooting. Emphasis is placed on proper grip, stance, trigger control, and building confidence through structured drills.

Course Topics Include:

• Pistol safety and range protocols

• Parts and functions of a pistol

• Loading, unloading, and clearing procedures

• Proper grip, stance, and sight alignment

• Trigger control and follow-through

• Fundamentals of marksmanship

• Introduction to drawing from the holster (if applicable)

• Live fire drills to reinforce skills

Recommended Equipment / What to Bring:

• Pistol with minimum of 3 magazines (rental options available upon request)

• Holster (outside-the-waistband preferred)

• Eye and ear protection

• Minimum of 200 rounds of pistol ammunition

• Long sleeves or appropriate range attire

Taught by an exceptional family of SWAT members, the instruction is top-tier. Professional, practical, and rooted in real-life tactical experience. The course focuses heavily on hands-on drills and real-world application, which really sets it apart. You’ll be challenged, but you’ll walk away a much more confident and capable shooter. One small piece of constructive feedback: I’d recommend updating the course description to clearly mention that students should bring approximately 300 rounds of their own ammo and magazine pouches. It’s a minor detail, but would definitely help first-timers come fully prepared.All in all, an amazing experience. Worth every penny and highly recommended.

For first timers, this is a very important class and should think on taking it multiple times.For more experienced, just when you think you had it figured out, you realize there is room for improvement. This is a class that will make sure that your foundation is strong are there is no room for weakens.
